Master Gardener Meeting
24 May 2018
Call to Order
Craig Morton called the Master Gardener’s meeting to order at the Historic Daniel Boone St Charles County Park in Defiance.  A long tour is to be provided.


Attendance:   51 Master Gardeners were present.
Secretary’s Report:


The Secretary’s Report from 26 April has been on line and copies were available on the table. 
 Marsha Brown made a motion to dispense with reading the minutes; it was seconded by Joe Walker. 

  
Treasurer’s Report:   Joe Walker provided an overview of the financial situation as a result of the plant sales.


Mary Medina:  Fall Garden Expo to be offered at the St Charles County Community College.   Classes on herbs, seed collection and bulbs will be given.
Next year’s Dig-In key speaker will be addressing custom food scaping   (edible landscape).


The September State Conference registration is now open.  The conference will be in Branson, MO.


Craig Morton:  Remember to record your Volunteer hours.


Marsha Brown:  A reminder that soil testing is available through the County Extension Office.


Victoria Gally is gathering new budgets from garden leads.


A meet and great for last Fall and Winter Master Garden classes is scheduled for 6:30 on 30 May.   A tour of the gardens will be given.


Tom Nagle:  The Missouri Dept of Conservation is planting native plants on a vacant lot in downtown St. Charles on Main Street.   It is north of The Crow’s Nest and has a white picket fence around it.


Joe Walker  the Girls and Boys Club request for volunteers to help with gardening in the Summer Blast Program.  It requires about 2 hours every Thursday from May 29th through 3 August.


Craig Morton:    A budget of $200 has been approved by the steering committee for Farmer’s Market expenses.

June 9th Laura Stiemel will give a tour to the Gasconade Master Gardener members,


Shade has been installed on green house, thank you to those who did it,
By-laws are in review and need finalizing,


Power Point class is in review,
